For those of you who would love to have the original copy of Final Fantasy XI along with all its released expansion packs (Rise of the Zilart, Chains of Promathia, Treasure of Aht Urhgan and Wings of the Goddess) - everything in one case, Square Enix comes with the solution everybody will love. The "solution" is called Vana'diel Collection 2008 and, as the name suggests, it allows players to experience every leg of the entire Vana'diel saga in one package.

The collection will hit the gamestores "soon", according to Square Enix, but if you can't wait to get your hands on it, Amazon.com (and other similar sites) are already selling it for a cheap $19.99. Also, together with the afore-mentioned expansion packs, the collection will also bring you the Tetra Master online card game from Final Fantasy XI, cross-platform and cross-country play (meaning that you can play the game together with people from all over the world on the Xbox 360, PS2 and PC) and a Vana'diel Buddy Pass, allowing you to let one of your friends enjoy the game for 30 days.

The original Final Fantasy XI was released back in 2002 and it was the first online game in the franchise. Until now, the community has grown to more than 500,000 active subscribers and over 1.7 million active characters from around the world. For them and not only, this Vana'diel Collection 2008 will be nothing short of pure gold.

In Final Fantasy XI, players undertake multiple adventures through vast environments in the world of Vana'diel, which has more than 100 areas to explore, including mountains, forests, glaciers, deserts, oceans, rivers, castles and dungeons. Players travel through these areas using various modes of transportation including chocobos, ferries and airships. The game allows players to create an alter ego who will exist in the world of Vana'diel, choosing from a variety of races, facial features and hairstyles. Not to mention that it's a real joy to play!
