Fergie and Josh Duhamel are officially first-time parents: just hours ago, the Black Eyed Peas songstress was admitted to an LA hospital for a scheduled caesarian section. Both mother and son are in perfect health.

TMZ was the first to report the news that Fergie had been taken to the hospital. It has now gotten confirmation from the singer’s rep as regards the name.

Think Guns N' Roses.

“Fergie's rep tells TMZ, Axl Jack Duhamel was born healthy this morning at 7 pounds 10 ounces [3.45 kg],” the celebrity publication writes.

“Fergie underwent a c-section procedure at an L.A. hospital – and […] will be recuperating in style, staying in one of the V.I.P. suites famously used by celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Dwight Howard,” the report goes on to note.

Earlier, TMZ said that Fergie and Josh arrived at the hospital as scheduled and that, as per eyewitness accounts, Josh wasn’t too nervous about the arrival of his son or, if he was, he didn’t let it show.

“We're told Josh is being super chill about the whole thing and was seen chatting it up with the staff while Fergie gets ready to deliver their first child,” the e-zine reported.

This is the couple’s first child. Josh and Fergie met in 2004 and are believed to have started dating almost immediately.

They were married in 2009 and, though they did go through one huge cheating scandal, which saw Josh accused of entertaining several affairs with exotic dancers, they always came across as one of the most solid couples in showbiz.

They confirmed the pregnancy in February this year – ironically shortly after Josh had to deny reports on the topic during an interview.

Shortly after the confirmation, the actor confirmed they were having a boy and, of course, expressed his joy at the thought of having a son.
