The mobile browser is expected to be called simply Firefox

It seems that the development team from Mozilla doesn't take a break no matter what. According to the latest news on the Web, they've added another nice feature to the mobile browser, meant to make it work in a similar way to the application we have running on our desktops or laptop PC, namely tab syncing.

The mobile browser comes with a wide array of features that resemble a lot the PC version we are all accustomed with, including Add-ons, tabbed browsing, and support for Weave, which is able to sync bookmarks, add-ons, passwords and the likes. The new feature added to Weave, and to Fennec at the same time, tab syncing, seems indeed like a great asset for one to have on their smartphone.

Brad Lassey, a fellow from Mozilla, says the following about the capabilities of the browser: “Several use cases have been thrown around, but the one that rings the loudest for me goes something like this: You’re looking for a new restaurant to try from your laptop at home, find one and head out. Once you get to the neighborhood, you realize you have no idea where this hole in the wall place is. With tab syncing you can pull out your mobile device, launch Fennec and see a list of tabs open on your laptop (and all your other computers). You select the tab you need, and instantly are looking at the same content you had on your laptop.”

In related news, we learn that the mobile browser might not come our way under the name of Fennec after all, and not even Firefox Mobile, as it was also expected, but that it will be dubbed simply Firefox, just as the desktop version is. Hopefully, regardless of the name, the mobile browser will be heading our way in the near future, with all the new features integrated in it.
