And it is going to be released in Q1 2008

As we were guessing yesterday, Ubisoft's delay of three major titles wasn't announced just because they wanted to annoy some people. They actually had some plans. Their plans regarding the sequel to Far Cry are quite nice: they will release the game for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 gaming consoles, too. Now... ain't that some great news to hear?

Even though the publisher didn't specify yet if the PC version (scheduled for the first quarter of the fiscal year 2008, which means sometime in April) will be released at the same time with the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 ones, but these have the same "Q1 2008" schedule set. So we might be hit by the Far Cry frenzy at the same time and (maybe) understand that the graphical delight in Crysis can be overdone. Hopefully, we won't need three NASA computers to run this one.

Far Cry 2 immerses players in an entirely new kind of gaming experience, featuring a custom-made video game engine built from the ground up, specifically for the game. It delivers some really realistic destructible environments, special effects such as dynamic fire propagation and storm effects, real-time night-and-day cycle, dynamic music system, non-scripted enemy A.I. etc.

The story will take us to Africa, where our character will be caught between two rival factions while trying to assassinate "The Jackal", a mysterious character who has rekindled the conflict between the warlords, jeopardizing thousands of lives. In order to fulfill your mission you will have to play the factions against each other, identify and exploit their weaknesses, and neutralize their superior numbers and firepower with surprise, subversion, cunning and, of course, brute force.

We will have a 50 km2 of world to explore freely, a nice array of weapons to choose from (including the flame thrower) and, of course, we will be able to hop into a vehicle and reach our destination as soon as possible. So, yes, this is a game we can hardly wait to get our hands on!
