When the big companies want to maximize their profits and record some impressive results, they don't really seem to think about those who actually make them have these great profits: us, the gamers. Having said this, here is the news: Far Cry 2, Tom Clancy's EndWar and Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway have been delayed until the fiscal year 2008 (which begins in April).

Even though Ubisoft will reveal their third quarter financial results by the end of February and a raise by about 20 per cent over last year is expected, the company still wants to keep development costs low and get those unaltered, impressive results for the 2007 fiscal year. One of the best sellers by the end of 2007 was Assassin's Creed, the game that had its sale predictions raised from three millions to five millions, which means quite some money!

Regarding the delayed titles, they definitely have what it takes to become best sellers if done right, so maybe Ubisoft wants to end the fiscal year 2007 on top and have a similar 2008 start. Who knows? The certain thing is that Far Cry 2 is a highly anticipated game by people all over the world (especially those who played the wonderful Crysis and know what to expect from this next iteration of the Far Cry game). Plus the titles that begin with "Tom Clancy's" have always been well received by fans and Brothers In Arms is, in my opinion, the best tactical shooter ever. So these titles are not something to delay just for the fun of it. But surely Ubisoft knows better how to run their business and, as long as we're not talking about such a big delay, we can live with it. Even though we would have loved to play these titles earlier and prove our skills to the world.
