Dannii Minogue, one of the most loved judges on X Factor, is out on maternity leave, as we also reported on several past occasions. Because the show could not go on without one of the judges, temps have been found for auditions – and former Ginger Spice of the Spice Girls, Geri Halliwell, was one of them. Still, her involvement was not welcomed as expected, the Daily Mail says.

In other words, not only was Geri booed by audiences on her first stint of the show, but she also had to go through the humiliation of hearing the crowd chant Dannii’s name and asking for her back. Moreover, members of the audience say on dedicated forums, she made off-topic and weird remarks, tried too hard to please and failed miserably, offended fellow judge Cheryl Cole and, at some point, stormed off the stage without a single word. All in all, this couldn’t have been a positive experience for Geri, the Mail concludes.

“Geri Halliwell was met with boos from the audience when she made her debut as a guest judge on The X Factor on Wednesday. The former Spice Girls star’s appearance at the Glasgow auditions was less than successful, with some fans even chanting for the return of judge Dannii Minogue, who is missing the auditions stage because she is heavily pregnant. Geri was accused of being ‘awful’ and her comments ‘not making sense’ by fans who angrily took to internet forums to vent their feelings about the 37-year-old star,” the British tab informs.

“Geri was awful. After one audition she left the judges table before being followed by Simon. Cheryl and Louis looked bemused while the warm up guy announced that we were having an early break. It wasn’t until a few auditions in she really started to irritate. She also gave irrelevant comments. One person said they were a personal trainer,” an unnamed source explains. A rep for the show, though, insists Geri didn’t get more negativity from the audience than the other judges. “There were reactions from the crowd. There were reactions to all the judges as much as there was to Geri,” says the spokesperson.

Hopefully, things will go better with the other temporary judges lined up to stand in for Dannii Minogue. Upcoming new faces on the show include Katy Perry, Pixie Lott and Natalie Imbruglia, the Mail says.
