Probably the most original side-scrolling-platformer ever created

The Fancy Pants Adventures is a game made by Brad Borne, a guy who decided to be all original in making a side-scrolling-platformer. Many compare these games with Mario or Sonic. Some of them are exact replicas of it, yet some platformers of this kind do tend to fall into another category. That category's name is original. Planet Freeplay interviewed Brad Borne and discussed some of his work on The Fancy Pants Adventures and other titles of his. When asked if he had completed any other projects before finishing work on Fancy Pants, Borne said:

"Before FPA I made SnowBlitz with Mark Fleig Jr., who drew everything. I'm not much of an artist myself but after that I really wanted to try drawing everything myself, just to see if I could pull it off. I guess you could say that that's why FPA has such a 'sketchy' style to it. The very first game I worked on was 'Stande,' also with Mark. As I figured out more about coding, the game got more complex but in the end we had to scale it back to a small arena shooter."

You might ask: "Why am I reading about some game creator's interview?" The thing is the interview wouldn't have occurred if The Fancy Pants Adventures hadn't been such an original title. Although it has plenty of side-scrolling features often found in Nintendo's Mario and Sega's Sonic, the game doesn't copy any of them in any way. It is all about doing acrobatic moves and exploring vast platforms, while some moves may require reactions at a fraction of a second, running or jumping at the same time. Although you'll find it a little strange, concerning how the characters look and everything else for that matter, if you thought Mario was difficult, try this one out.
