Leaks, mistakes and slips of the tongue happen all the time in the gaming industry, so, most of the times a company wants to make grand announcements, the rumors will have already flown around for a long time, and the initial surprise is mostly ruined. This time, the story is that Famitsu might have slipped and offered us some inside scoops on two new releases, so, if either Konami or Arc System Works plan to make an announcement regarding one of their titles in the future, chances are that we'll already be in the loop about the news.

Famitsu's publisher, Enterbrain, accidentally made the magazine's next-week cover available online, and, even if it has since pulled it down from the net, plenty of people managed to get a snapshot of it and the rumors it might unveil. The two new titles that are mentioned by the cover are Love Plus Plus and BlazBlue: Continuum Shift. The first game would most likely be a sequel to Konami's dating sim, Love Plus, a title that stirred quite a bit of commotion in Japan, but the news about BlazBlue is a bit murky.

Acting less like your typical eroge, the game took a different approach on the genre, taking the concept to the next level. Instead of chasing around all the female characters in the game, looking out for and putting up "flags," hoping that their actions will lead to a conclusion, players will instead have to maintain a steady relationship with a female character.

The game proved to be a mysterious, little treasure, as it managed an impressive amount of sales, considering that the only publicity it got was by word of mouth. Later on, however, the title hit the public spotlight when a gamer decided to marry his virtual girlfriend, walking his Nintendo DS down to the altar. As for BlazBlue: Continuum Shift, the arcade fighting title that was released last fall, the actual scoop is, as we said, a bit unclear. The game's console version has already been informed about, so the announcement could be anything from a PC or Wii/DS version of it to DLC.

While common sense is what leads these speculations the most, as both assumptions are logical and somewhat to be expected, Kotaku Japan, the one that relayed Enterbrain's slip-up, did mention that the cover could be a fake that was taken for granted by other news sites. The site also tried to contact Konami about Love Plus Plus, but the game's spokesperson could not be reached. However, since this was next week's cover that was supposedly leaked, we should learn the truth very soon.
