Bethesda and Obsidian have just announced that a comprehensive patch for the recent Fallout: New Vegas will be released in the following weeks, for all the major platforms, including the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

The announcement was posted on the Fallout Facebook page, and revealed that "We've wrapped up work on the Fallout: New Vegas patch and submitted it. Will let you know when it's up on PS3, 360, and Steam."

After the release of several title updates for Fallout: New Vegas, which fixed some of the many glitches and issues encountered by players in the massive post apocalyptic role playing game, it seems that this major patch will be the "comprehensive" one that was revealed by Obsidian a few weeks ago.

This patch will finally manage to fix most of the problems with the game, and essentially deliver the experience that was promised to Fallout fans when New Vegas was actually revealed.

Expect the testing and approval phases for the patch to last around a week or so, depending on how many things have been fixed, and they will be deployed through the online services for every platform.

This means PC users will download it through Valve's Steam service, PlayStation 3 users through the PlayStation Network and Xbox 360 ones through Xbox Live.

No concrete list of fixes was revealed, but expect details to appear when Obsidian has it ready for deployment on all the platforms mentioned above.

Fallout: New Vegas was released on back in October for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and went on to sell a lot of copies, despite the fact that it was filled with bugs, glitches and problems that made the game practically unplayable.

Despite many patches and updates having been released on all platforms, users still complained that even if some issues were eliminated, new ones appeared that were even worse.

Hopefully this new patch will make the game an enjoyable experience for all players, no matter the platform.
