Innovative game Fable III: Kingmaker is set to arrive on mobile phones in the near future, Microsoft has just announced. October 4th is expected to bring the game to handsets running under Android or Symbian, followed by an October 6th launch in iPhone, and the title's availability on Windows Phone 7 when the platform is launched later this year.

According to the Redmond-based software giant, Fable III: Kingmaker, an innovative geo-location mobile gaming experience, will come only to users in Europe on Monday.

Users interested in the new game should head over to www.Fable3Kingmaker.com to learn more on the new title, which offers them the possibility to play either as a Rebel that would fight against the wayward King, or as a loyal Royal follower.

Players can take ownership of land for their faction using “Fable III: Kingmaker” mobile application staking a claim to unclaimed or opposing team’s territory by tagging their location and planting a virtual flag using the GPS facility on their smart phone,” the company announced.

The land is conquered as soon as one fraction has the greatest number of flags in any given territory at any given time. Thus, the territory would change its color either to the Rebels or to the Royals.

Players receive in-game “Gold” for their efforts in the capturing of territories, gold that can be transferred to the full game of “Fable III” on Xbox 360 as soon as it arrives on the market in Europe on October 29th.

“To be able to earn gold you can use in your Fable III game, and to check-in and claim land for your side is brilliant for both Fable III and Xbox 360,” Peter Molyneux, Creative Director, Microsoft Games Studios Europe, said.

Chris Lewis, Vice President, Interactive Entertainment Business, Microsoft EMEA, added: “Fable III: Kingmaker brings gaming out of the home and turns your town or city into the setting for an epic online battle.

“We are always challenging ourselves to find new, exciting ways to deliver second-to-none gaming experiences and we can’t wait to see Fable fans take to the streets across Europe with Fable III: Kingmaker.”

The new game is set to become available for users in the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Netherlands and Sweden on Monday, 4th October.

“Fable III: Kingmaker” will roll-out on various mobile operating systems, Microsoft announced, adding that the application will be made available for a free download on over 60 devices.

Moreover, the tiles will also arrive on Windows Phone 7 when it is released on the market later this year, as this is “the only phone that lets you play games with Xbox LIVE.”
