FCC (Federal Communications Comission) has approved for USA the Sony Z610 cell phone, a tri-band clamshell, with support for GSM/GPRS 900/1800/1900 Mhz networks and UMTS 2100.

Its stylish mirror- like exterior finish has a very interesting feature: an OLED 128x36 pixels external display that appears only when you get a call or a text message.

Other features are: a 2 megapixel camera with 2.5 digital zoom for still imaging, a 2 inch 262k colors 220x176 pixels TFT display, Picture Blog capability, Push e-mail, QCIF video recording and streaming, Video and Photo DJ, a music player with support for MP3/AAC/AAC+/eAAC+ audio file types, USB charging capability, JAVA MIDP2.0, Bluetooth with A2DP stereo support, USB mass storage, 64 MB Memory Stick Micro with support for up to 1 gigabyte, flight mode, full HTML browser with RSS and many others.

There is no info about the pricing of the device, but after the FCC approval, the Sony Z610 should be available for purchase in stores very soon.
