With an 8.1-megapixel camera and AWS 3G support

It seems that T-Mobile will soon launch yet another mobile phone for its United States users, namely the Sony Ericsson CS8, which has just received approvals from FCC and will hit the market in a sliding form factor, while also including support for the carrier's GSM and AWS 3G networks.

Interestingly enough, the new Cyber-shot handset does not feature the same traditional codename as the rest of Sony Ericsson's mobile phones. At the same time, it seems that the new device is actually a variant of the Sony Ericsson C905, which has been designed to work on the US networks, which might also explain the new denomination.

What T-Mobile is expected to soon add to its offering is a handset that sports an 8.1-megapixel photo snapper, which makes it the second mobile phone to go to the wireless carrier's offering with such high-quality camera, after the Samsung Memoir.

The specification list of the upcoming phone includes quad-band GSM/EDGE and 1700/2100 for UMTS/ HSDPA 3G connectivity, GPS capabilities, Wi-Fi for Internet surfing (no UMA, it seems), support for Google Maps, the 8-megapixel camera, which includes auto focus and flash, Bluetooth Stereo, FM Radio and email and IM capabilities. The device will most certainly come to T-Mobile, given the network support as well as a sticker with “TMO” that can be seen on it, not to mention the myFaves logo that has been included in the user manual. According to rumors, the release date of the Sony Ericsson CS8 has been set to June 24, though nothing has been confirmed so far.

While the arrival of this 8-megapixel camera phone sounds like a good thing, the advent of another device will certainly sound like a great one, and we are talking here about the Sony Ericsson Idou, which is set for launch sometime in the second half of the year, and which will come with a 12-megapixel camera, also heading for the US.
