The beginning of introducing GPS performances at a large scale

The Nokia LD-4W Bluetooth GPS Module has just been approved by FCC, which means that it shouldn't be long until we actually see this device on the market. The uses for such a Bluetooth module are considerably high, especially when considering the amount of performances it manages to pack in such a slim case.

Nokia has announced for some time now that it plans on putting GPS capabilities in all its handsets from now on. They consider the feature to be extremely useful for mobile phone users and a basic feature to provide. The disadvantage comes in the case of less evolved handsets, which are not capable of providing enough display performances as to live up to the standards of regular GPS devices.

Nokia LD-4W Bluetooth GPS Module sounds like the perfect solution for bringing Nokia closer to making their plans come true. All that a mobile phone needs in order to provide GPS performances through this device is that of Bluetooth, for making proper connection with the handset.

The device is still in the process of production, which explains why so information on it has been available until now. Things have changed only at a small scale, as we now have an image of it and the information of being FCC approved. Still, these show just how compact the device proves to be. It looks just like any regular Bluetooth headset, although this one also packs highly useful GPS performances.

The fact that FCC has just approved the Nokia LD-4W Bluetooth GPS Module gives hopes for a future release on the US market. The Finnish company has made no official announcement until now for the device. Because of this, the exact date and the price that it will be available for are still unknown, although there are high chances of seeing it on the market in the near future.
