The Sony Ericsson HGE-100 GPS enabler looks just a regular wired stereo headset, but it is capable of much more than that. The device has also a built-in GPS receiver, which is something that we don't see all that often.

The HGE-100 provides a satellite navigation system, using voice or visual prompting, in addition to a Sports Tracker application which measures distance, speed and consumed calories. The device is compatible with a large number of Sony Ericsson mobile phones which are highly easy to use.

The GPS navigator is built-in to a Stereo Portable Handsfree. Due to this feature, the user can easily switch between GPS and regular phone functions through the handset. It works with voice or text commands and has a simple graphical, icon-based display to navigate. The user has also the possibility of storing several destinations if he considers that they might come in use later on. They can store it according to an address, person, company and even local points of interest.

One highly useful feature is that of using the GPS Enabler while running in order to keep track of the amount of effort that the user faces. The HGE-100 monitors speed, distance, route and calorie burn and then it reports to the user.

The device also makes it possible to control the phone's media player while running or just on a walk, aside from the GPS functions. It is compatible with a large number of mobile phones coming from this company and incredibly easy to use.

The Sony Ericsson GPS enabler weighs little under 50 grams and comes in colors of black and silver. It will be available starting with the third quarter of this year, which means that we will have the chance of enjoying it quite soon.
