Monolith is saying that it plans to release a new map pack for its F.E.A.R. 2 shooter. The Armored Front content is coming on May 21 for the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 and is set to offer two maps and some customization options.

The Conductor Map is built around a fight to get out of a train yard that is built around a turntable. The level sports more than one level and vertical fights can take place as those on foot scale the train yard structures and take on the EPAs fighting below.

The Decoy Map is actually a training area used by Replica soldiers. It is set to test the player’s skills. There are dummy soldiers that can pop up at every moment in order to distract the attention of a player for a few seconds, enough for an enemy to take him/her down. In order to clear the map, a good player has to be focused and avoid ambushes.

The Armored Front Map Pack is also offering a choice of four new unique character heads that can be used to customize the player's appearance. There has already been one map pack released for F.E.A.R. 2 in April. It was called Toy Soldiers and delivered quite a few new game features. The next map pack should arrive sometime during summer. Monolith is planning to make sure that fans of the videogame are getting their fair share of fresh content based upon their requests.

F.E.A.R. 2 was a solid shooter when initially released, with the Artificial Intelligence putting up a big fight in the single player and most of the multiplayer content being well implemented. The only problem is that the game did nothing special, which was sorely needed for taking on multiplayer heavy weights like Modern Warfare or Call of Duty: World at War.
