Bungie confirms that it's going to make a few more preparations ahead of the debut of its House of Wolves expansion for Destiny, meaning that players might encounter some outages and brief gameplay interruptions starting today, May 18, across all platforms, beginning at 8am PDT.

Destiny, Bungie's pretty successful multiplayer shooter, has kept improving in all sorts of ways since its initial debut in September of last year, and the studio has released plenty of different updates, not to mention new content designed to keep fans hooked on it.

The biggest expansion yet, House of Wolves, is set to launch tomorrow, May 19, all around the world across all platforms (i.e. PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One).

Bungie already released one big patch last week, taking the game to version 1.2.0, and it's already confirmed that tomorrow, alongside the add-on, a smaller hot fix update is set to go live, taking the title to version 1.2.0.1 and bringing a few small yet crucial enhancements.

House of Wolves preparations might cause outages today

However, until tomorrow when the patch and the expansion are set to go live, Bungie confirms that it's going to make a few more preparations for the major add-on.

While this is certainly some good news, the actual preparations mean that current Destiny players might encounter a few outages and "connection interruptions" according to the studio.

Now, it mentions on Twitter that these periods of downtime will be brief, but they might start as early as 9am PDT today, May 18. Special warnings will be given one hour before the actual outages and interruptions are expected to begin, but Bungie advises all Destiny players to not engage in online activities that can last for a longer period of time.

It's unclear just how big these outages will be, so expect to hear a bit more as Bungie starts working on Destiny and the upcoming House of Wolves expansion, not to mention its hot fix update.
