With 3D becoming more and more of a standard feature when it comes down to HDTVs and the like, there is an increased demand for 3D enabled content, so camcorder manufacturers were pretty quick to rise to the challenge, Exemode being the latest to introduce their 3DV-5WF pocket camcorder to compete with other such solutions out there like ViewSonic's 3DV5 offering.

As is usually the case with such compact 3D enabled camcorders, the 3DV-5WF doesn't come with what I would call an impressive feature set, this being designed to offer a quick and cheap solution to all those that see 3D as the next big thing in consumer entertainment (and don't want to spend too much money in the process).

As a result, 3D shooting is limited to a rather low WVGA (848×480/30fps) resolution, a lot less than what your brand spanking new 3DTV can display, 2D shooting being also limited at 720p.

The recorded 3D footage is to be displayed on the swivel 3.2 inch 3D LCD, although, at this point, we don't know if this will require you to wear any special glasses in order to get that depth effect associated with 3D.

Unfortunately we don't get any more infos about the bitrates used for capturing video content, so don't get your hopes up when it comes down to image quality since this is an entry level solution and, most likely, it won't manage to offer more than average video quality.

As far as storage is concerned, this camcorder comes with a paltry 128MB internal memory, the 3DV-5WF relying on SD or SDHC cards for storage, Exemode stating it support cards up to 32GB in size.

Other features include USB and HDMI connectivity, an LED flashlight for shooting in the dark, 8M still image recording, the rechargeable li-ion battery offering up to 1 hour 49 minutes autonomy in movie mode.

However, the best thing about the Exemore 3DV-5WF is its price since this will become available in Japan for the equivalent of $300, more than ViewSonic's 3DV5, but a lot less than other 3D enabled camcorders. (via CrunchGear)
