As some of you might remember, we've talked a while ago about the EvoBook, Romanian company Evolio's first eBook reader, and now, it's about time to check yet another of their interesting endeavors, namely the EvoTab TB1, a 7-inch tablet running the Android OS and packing some rather interesting features.

The mobile device is powered by an ARM 11 CPU running at 800 Mhz (not particularly impressive on this front, if you are to ask us), accompanied by 256MB of DDR2 and 4GB of flash memory, which, as far as we're concerned, makes it quite OK for Internet browsing and some multimedia playback, but not exactly the most powerful tablet around.

And speaking of browsing, it's important to point out that this thing packs plenty of networking and connectivity options, including here built-in Wi-Fi, or support for adding a 3G modem via one of the available USB ports (no built-in 3G is somewhat of a downturn, though).

The EvoTab TB1 also packs a 4500 mAh battery that grants it a functioning autonomy of up to 14 hours, and despite the large-size power pack, it sports quite a slim and portable form factor, measuring just around 11 mm in thickness, which means that carrying it around should prove a more than easy task.

Additional features provided by the TB1 include a trackball, as well as extensive support for HD movie playback, eBook reading, not to mention applications such as Skype, MSN, Facebook, plus lots of games and access to the Android Marketplace.

Last, but certainly not least, we'll have to point out that Evolio already has some content deals in place with a couple of local news outlets, meaning that EvoTab owners from Romania will be able to access all the content (even while offline) without having to pay more than the tablet's price tag, of around 200 Euro.
