Evernote 2.0 for Android is on its way to a final release for all devices running under Google's mobile operating system, and a beta version of the application has been made available for download, mainly in the idea of finding any issues with the software, so as to fix them ahead the final version. A wide range of enhancements have been included in the new release, such as a new user interface, easier sorting and browsing, speed enhancements, and more.

“We made browsing notes, tags and notebooks much easier. You can group your notes by notebook, location, or month and use the scroller to switch between sections. Note sorting happens lickity-split and even works offline,” the company notes.

Pptions like edit, delete, note info, email or tagging can be access through simply pressing and holding the notes in a note list.

What users would spot when launching the new app version includes a more intuitive home screen, which enables making notes, or viewing synchronization status, as well as a changed interface, which now sports a header bar for easier switching between searches, notes, tags, and notebooks.

At the same time, the app comes with faster browsing, viewing and searching of notes, as all data about the notes, including tags, notebook names and more, is downloaded when the app is launched for the first time.

The app has been also designed to automatically download all the data periodically so as to keep notes up to date, not to mention that all notes opened on the device are stored offline for access even outside network connectivity.

“The initial sync may take some time, so we recommend connecting your phone to a power source and turning on WIFI,” the company notes.

Other important features in the new release include offline notebooks for Premium users, as well as the simplification of note creation. There are also multiple attachments, along with sharing from other apps.

According to the developing team, those interested in trying out the solution are encouraged to do so, but they should know that application malfunction might result in data loss.

“By installing this application you are acknowledging the potential for data loss and/or corruption of your notes. Only individuals that understand the inherent risks associated with Beta software should install the Evernote 2 Beta,” the company states.

Thus, only those users who are members of the Evernote Forum are able to access the solution ahead the official release.
