Well known for their high performance laptops, Eurocom has just announced a new addition to their product line, the 15.6-inch Racer, that comes equipped with Sandy Bridge processors and is touted as the most powerful 15-inch notebook on the planet.

As all of Eurocom's products, the Racer is fully configurable, users having the option of pairing the laptop with as much as 32GB of DDR3 memory and a wide variety of high performance graphics cards from the likes of AMD and Nvidia, including the GeForce GTX 485M and the Radeon Mobility HD 6970M.

Two Nvidia Quadro professional GPUs complete the list of available graphics cards, namely the FX 3800M and the FX 2800M.

In addition, the Racer can be upgraded to use any other video card that comes in the MXM 3.0b package and has a TDP of under 100W.

Storage is handled by two physical drives (SSD, hybrid or mechanical), that can provide up to 1.7TB in capacity, and the Racer can be further configured with a matte or a glossy 1920x1080 Full HD LED backlit display.

Other optionals include Bluetooth and mobile broadband connectivity, all the models featuring a 9-in-1 card reader, a pair of USB 3.0 ports, Dual Link DVI and HDMI video outputs, a FireWire port, optical audio S/PDIF, and a Gigabit Ethernet port.

"The Eurocom Racer is the perfect little package that is capable of much more than its size suggests,” said Mark Bialic, president and CTO of Eurocom Corporation.

“With powerful Intel Core i7 Extreme Mobile processors, MXM 3.0 graphics technology supporting AMD Radeon Mobility technology, Nvidia Geforce and Quadro this platform is very capable of matching up against the best in the gaming and professional industries," concluded the company's rep.
