Eurocom has always been known for its high performance desktop replacement laptops and mobile workstations and the company has just announced that its fastest solution have become even faster as they can be now configured with Intel's 510-series SSDs.

The 510-series of solid state drives was designed by Intel to cater to the needs of high-end users and enthusiasts alike and can reach a maximum sequential read speed of 470MB/s while sequential write speed is rated at 315MB/s.

In addition, 4K random write performance has been been measured to reach 20,000 IOPS (input/output operations per second) and 4K random read is rated at about 5000 IOPS.

The SSDs connect to the system via a SATA 6Gbps interface and would ideally be paired with Eurocom's Sandy Bridge-powered notebooks, as these pack native 6Gbps support.

Right now, the only two models in the company's lineup to be built using second-generation Core chips and the Huron River HM65 and HM67 chipsets are the 15.6-inch Racer and the 17.3-inch Neptune.

Both can support various Core i5 and i7 processors, up to 32GB of DDR3 RAM memory, 100W video cards and can be configured with either matte or glossy 1920x1080 Full HD LED backlit displays.

As far as storage is concerned, the Racer packs two drive bays while the 17.3-inch Neptune supports up to 3 storage drives as well as an extended range of RAID modes.

“The Intel 510 series SSDs gives Eurocom clients looking for the most powerful mobile workstations on the market a super fast storage option, that is rugged, efficient and performance oriented,” explains Eurocom President Mark Bialic.

Intel's 510-series SSDs are available right now from Eurocom's notebook customization page and the 120GB SSD is listed at $395 while the 250GB model can be purchased for $795.
