Ericsson will be the main provider for the Mobile Softswitch solution in Algeria. The results of this decision will be easy to see in the network's capacity and overall efficiency of mobile services in the area.

Wataniya Telecom Alg?rie has chosen Ericsson from all other providers for this service in order to bring closer the possibilities for an all-IP core network. For this, a wide range of professional services will have the role of making expansion easier and take place at a faster pace.

"Wataniya has selected Ericsson for this significant investment because of its technology leadership, the value it delivers in its solutions and its ability to continue to support us in our future requirements. With the network enhancements supported by the Ericsson Mobile Softswitch Solution Wataniya will strengthen its innovation leadership in the market and enjoy a smoother service evolution to all-IP requirements", said Joseph Ged, COO of Wataniya Telecom Alg?rie.

This partnership is profitable for both sides, as Ericsson will also have to gain from bringing their services on a new market. "We look forward to assisting Wataniya to continue providing state-of-the-art quality services and strengthen its market position", declared Johan Lallerstedt, head of Ericsson's operations in northern Africa.

Algeria is only one of the many countries where Ericsson has managed to introduce their services. On each occasion, such partnerships have proved to be profitable on both sides. Algeria will benefit from now on from a more evolved mobile communication network, whereas Ericsson will have the opportunity of offering its innovatory standards to a country that needs them.

Ericsson Mobile Softswitch Solution is one of the most appreciated and generally used softswitch architecture solutions. Almost 50 percent of all mobile networks use it as support for their commercial services. Ericsson manages to do this for more than 140 countries and still counting.
