Writing on the official Gears of War forums, Epic's Mark Rein explains how the recently added Annex gametype and Hidden Fronts map pack are coming along, mentioning some slight changes also. Don't worry, nothing bad is happening. The company is thinking to make use of Microsoft's new guidelines, allowing developers to offer an extra 250 gamerscore points through marketplace additions.

Now I've got your attention. Don't get too excited though, you won't get much merrier, everything will basically stay the same. Better yet, why don't I let the man himself explain everything to you:

"The next Gears of War update is coming along nicely. We don't have a release timeframe for it yet but I just wanted to let you know we're making significant progress. In addition to the previously mentioned plan to improve roadie run we're also going to have new achievements relating to Annex and the Hidden Fronts DLC," said Rein.

"The title update is free and that's what contains the achievements. However some of the achievements are tied to things relating to playing the maps in the Hidden Fronts map pack which currently costs money but will be made free in a few months," added Rein as stated on NextGeneration.

Basically, the achievements will be connected to Annex and Hidden Fronts, while Roadie run improvements also inbound. However, Rein also states that some of the new achievements will only be unlockable through playing maps included in the Hidden Fronts pack, setting gamers back some 800 Marketplace points ($10), while the title update will be available free of charge.

That's was the vice president of Epic Games bringing you only the hottest stuff regarding Gears of War for the Xbox 360 and its added content. Until the next time, stay tuned for more on science and technology. Have a great weekend.
