Samsung Epic 4G, the Galaxy S model that landed on Sprint's airwaves in the United States, is about to get better, as the carrier plans to deliver a software update for it as soon as tomorrow.

The said firmware bump is expected to bring forth some upload speed enhancements, meant to fix some limitations in this area that the phone was reportedly suffering from.

Sprint already announced officially that it acknowledged the said issues with its second Android-based 4G-capable handset, but no specific release date for a fix was provided until now.

However, a Sprint employee already announced via the operator's support forums that the new software update is set to arrive tomorrow, which makes things as official as they can be, as a recent article on Engadget notes.

“Good news - an update will be released tomorrow 9/30. It will be rolled out over a 4 day period so not everyone will get it on day 1,” a post on the wireless carrier's support forums reads.

Nonetheless, no specific info on what exactly the software update would include has emerged for the time being, though all of these details should be made available as soon as tomorrow.

“I will have the standard MR information (fixes included, rollout schedule, etc) available tomorrow morning and will post it in a new featured thread,” the Sprint employee announcing the software update continued.

Many Samsung Epic 4G owners have already stepped up and said they encountered various issues with their handsets, with the 3G upload issues being some of the most often reported on.

What users said on this was that their upload speeds were capped at around 150kbps, something that should be fixed with the update set to arrive tomorrow.

Hopefully, the solution would indeed arrive on handsets tomorrow, and no last minute issues would emerge, determining Sprint to push it back. Keep an eye on this space for more info on the matter.
