The beginning of 2014 is going to be one full of announcements regarding the mirrorless camera market. After some rumors spread about Sony unveiling the successor of their NEX-7 interchangeable lens camera, another rumor has emerged about Olympus.

According to 43rumors, Olympus is about to announce a new entry-level OM-D camera in the first months of 2014, right before Japan's CP+ show that will take place February 13 to 16.

The new OM-D is said to share the same sensor as the OM-D EM-1 camera without an AA filter, as well as a similar electronic viewfinder.

This means that the new OM-D model will come as a small upgrade over the current E-M5 model. As for the price, we expect it to be somewhere around $1,400 / €1,035, similar to the launch price of the E-M1 model.

The same source states that Olympus is also preparing to announce new MFT lenses. Stay tuned as we try to find out more about the new Olympus MFT camera.
