Party, party, shoot shots, pass out, wait for resurrect

New Year's Eve is just around the corner, and, like always, there's not much you can still play at the end of the year. The big releases have come and gone, and the past weeks have been a dry patch of land as far as new games go.

So, it looks like it's time to reach deep into the dust-covered box of games and see what relics we can resurrect in order to burn the midnight oil until the old clock strikes twelve and we can start drinking ourselves silly. And, since Mass Effect 2 is coming in January and my saved games from the first Mass Effect went away with my last hard disc format, it would be the perfect time to start working my way back to a high-level Shepard.

The first time I played Mass Effect, I did so with the Engineer class, and I got completely ripped off. I didn't like its style at all, but I was too stubborn to start over with a new character. So, not only did I not enjoy the game very much, but I finished with it by sticking almost solely to the main quest, and didn't venture at all to explore any kind of planes. All in all, this makes the perfect scenario for a second playthrough.

As for the class that I'll be going for this time, with the gear restrictions that the Engineer one imposed on me, I'll most likely choose a Soldier class, just so I can equip everything I get my hands on. The drawback will be that I'll need to sacrifice some party slots in order to fill in the rest of the rolls that aren't directly combat orientated. By sacrifice, I mean that I won't be able to choose the characters that I find to be... pleasant company, and will have to pick those that prove to fill the support roles that my party will need in order to survive, despite how annoying I'd find their presence.
