BioWare's new approach on its products consisting of making good games even better by extending their life cycles seems to add another title to the expanding concept. Apparently, the upcoming Xbox 360 and PC title Mass Effect 2 has some rumors flying around that it is going to receive a serious amount of downloadable content in its lifetime. The gossip comes from Destructoid, which managed to get its hands on some information regarding the upcoming RPG.

It succeeded in extracting some intel from a retailer-focused Microsoft Expert Zone quiz that would indicate that, along the way, Mass Effect 2 would supply gamers with more than just the typical DLC items. Besides the generic weapons, armor, maps and even new characters, the game could also provide "full campaign expansions," further expanding the huge gaming experience.

Mass Effect 2 joins the ranks of Dragon Age: Origins, for which BioWare has the same plans installed. The fantasy role-playing game received a promise from its developers that it would get two years' worth of expansions, downloadable content and otherwise their general affection and sympathy manifested in physical or digital form. DA: Origins was officially released today in America, while Europe will have to wait three more days until November 6.

Mass Effect 2 promises the same vast and immersive experience as the first game did. Also developed by BioWare, the original Mass Effect gave players an interactive story, a feat that is going to reach new levels with ME 2. According to BioWare Executive Producer Casey Hudson, the character's life span will be in the player's hands. “If you do die in the ending of Mass Effect 2, it will not come as a surprise, nor will it be random. It will be pretty obvious that you headed into the final mission knowing that Shepard probably wouldn’t make it out alive.” She also added that, “You might have an ending where Shepard’s entire team survives, or where the entire mission is a bloodbath and everyone (including Shepard) is killed, or anything in between.”
