New location available for Home users

It seems that Sony is really on an ascending trend these days in terms of announcements, like the fact that 2009 will be a great year for its PlayStation 3 console, and in partnerships, as it has revealed that the Red Bull Island for its PlayStation Home online service has been launched, offering players new ways to interact and play with their friends.

Now, as a statement made by Electronic Arts shows, it seems that PlayStation 3 users will get the chance to explore a new complex, designed especially for its Sports label. Named EA Sports Complex, obviously, this new area will allow any type of gamer, hardcore or casual, to explore a fully branded experience, complete with trailers of new or upcoming games, leaderboards for popular titles and the ability to play multiplayer games with their friends.

“We’re proud to support the PlayStation Home Beta with a very robust offering from EA SPORTS,” said Peter Moore, president of EA SPORTS. “As part of our continued commitment to the connected experience and the digitization of our business, the EA SPORTS Complex is a rich new online environment that presents a compelling and immersive social gaming experience for the global sports audience.”

The EA Sports Complex will be launched this spring and will guarantee a lot of new and interesting things for both Sony and for EA. Let's not forget about Home – although still in open beta stage, it seems that the virtual items that users can acquire are selling like hot cakes, creating a big profit for Sony and for the companies that choose to market their product there.

It also seems that more Electronic Arts goodies will, slowly but surely, make their way onto Sony's Home, as part of a new partnership between the two companies. And here we thought that EA wasn't confident in this new online service created by the Japanese company.
