And another Wii peripheral

Ubisoft has had quite the busy presentation at the E3 trade show but the big news coming from the company was about Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction, which was confirmed as arriving in the fall. Also, the French publisher offered details on other projects, which are summarized below.

One of the big prospects is the collaboration between Ubisoft and some big Hollywood players, like James Cameron, Peter Jackson and Steven Spielberg. The company is working on a gaming companion to Avatar, which James Cameron is preparing to release during the fall, while Steven Spielberg will be involved in creating a videogame based on The Adventures of Tintin, the rather famous Belgium reporter.

The French publisher has also announced a new fitness title for the Nintendo Wii, called Your Shape, which comes packed with a fresh peripheral, a camera that is tasked with registering the position of your body as you perform the exercise routines prescribed.

Apparently, Your Shape will not use the Balance Board, focusing on more evolved exercise patters that can be registered by the camera. It's not clear whether the peripheral is created by Nintendo and whether it will be used by other games or whether it will be made by Ubisoft and only used for Your Shape. Still, the publisher seems interested in replicating, if not surpassing, the success of Wii Fit.

Finally, Ubisoft has confirmed that it would publish a new game developed by Q Entertainment, the studio that has created Lumines and Meteos. The name of the project is Eden, previously used for Rez, which gives hope to the fact that gamers will get to play a new sensory-altered videogame. Unfortunately, the company was not ready to unveil more details at E3.
