Activision is not the most diverse company at this point and some decisions taken over the last months have reduced the field of games it is creating even further so expect the upcoming E3 presence of the publisher to focus on one thing: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

The roll out party for the first person shooter, already as good as a lock for the title of Best Selling Game of 2011, was a bit spoiled by the large leak coming from inside Infinity Ward but nevertheless Activision is likely to talk a lot about the game, focusing on the changes made to the multiplayer side and maybe allowing a closer look at the campaign.

The Elite subscription based service that was just announced will be less of a focus as Activision aims to test the reaction that the fan base will have to it via a beta stage later in the year.

Traditionally the second most important franchise shown at E3 would have been Guitar Hero but this year no game in the series is expected to be released and DJ Hero is unlikely to get an announcement as well.

Activision plans to show off more about its next Spider Man project, called Edge of Time, that is supposed to once again allow gamers to play as two different incarnation of the character.

Games like Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Prototype 2 and the new X-Men installment will also get some time in the spotlight.

It's also possible but highly unlikely that Bungie will burst on stage and officially announce their next project with Activision.

Normally Activision does not force Blizzard to bring its games to E3 and offer new information but we might get some new information on Heart of the Swarm, the new expansion for Starcraft II, Diablo III, which might even get an official launch date, and maybe even the next World of Warcraft expansion.

Softpedia will be live on show floor at E3 2011, so you should also look forward to live coverage of the event, from all the major announcements to plenty of hands-on time spent with many upcoming games.
