Although I have to admit that I have never heard of E-King before, this Chinese company is set to make quite a splash in the tablet/MID market, its S700 E-notepad coming with an impressive color digital paper screen and a bunch of other cool features that will surely make it a hit among the business crowd, if it ever manages to get out of China that is.

Actually touted as the “world's first” E-notepad, the E-King S700 comes with an impressive array of features, its color electronic paper display making this device particularly interesting since this type of screens usually offer outstanding battery life as well as improved legibility, even when exposed to direct sunlight.

To top things off, E-King's S700 display also features two input methods with resistive touch and electromagnetic induction touch, meaning that you can use your finger for web browsing and the like as well as a stylus for taking notes, the S700 allowing its users to make annotations in their documents as well as send hand written e-mails.

Looking pretty much like a regular paper notebook when closed, this 7-inch device packs WiFi as well as 3G connectivity, GPS navigation also being supported.

Software wise, E-King doesn't state what operating system its E-notebook runs, although we do know that it allows its users to surf the web, send and receive e-mails, edit documents, chat using IM and even play games.

A fingerprint security system, as well as a 3MP autofocus camera also make their way on the specs list, the S700 snapper coming with a special function that enables users to take pictures of business cards and add the data to their contacts list on the tablet.

End of it all, I can certainly say the S700 really does come with some interesting features the only issue being that we don't know if this will actually make its way out of China or what the suggested retail price is going to be. (via Slashgear)
