Driver: San Francisco has just received a brand new trailer, complete with gameplay from the upcoming title, which also introduces the basics of the story of the single-player campaign.

Ubisoft's Driver: San Francisco was announced for quite some time now, and after a pretty big reveal, the title entered development limbo, with the French company announcing that the game is delayed until further notice.

Now, the company has arrived with some pretty big news, not only with a release schedule but also a video of the upcoming racing game.

First up, Driver: San Francisco will be released on August 30, in North America, September 1, in the UK, and September 2, in Europe and the rest of the world.

The game was originally set to appear from the Ubisoft Reflections studio, the original developer behind the series, at the end of 2010, but was pushed back for a release this year.

The video, which you can enjoy below, shows off the story of the new game, with players once again in the driving shoes of John Tanner, as he struggles to capture a notorious crime lord, Charles Jericho, who just escaped from police custody and is free on the streets of San Francisco.

The major change for the series is that Tanner, who appeared in previous titles in the series, is now in a coma, and the action of the game is actually taking place in his mind.

Here, Tanner can just phase his conscience into different cars in order to complete races, missions and, ultimately, take down Jericho, even if it isn't actually happening in real life.

Driver: San Francisco will be out at the end of August and beginning of September on platforms like the PC or Mac, as well as consoles like the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, while special versions of the game will be released for the Nintendo Wii and 3DS devices.

Until the game is out, you can enjoy the new trailer of the game below.
