But not canceled yet

Yeah, probably all the people who are really enjoying the recently released Age of Conan understand why the long-time-ago announced title is not Funcom's priority but, honestly, a lot of people don't. It was like one of the most impressive, appreciated and life changing adventure experiences for many gamers now and, having in mind that Dreamfall: The Longest Journey had such a strange ending... we really need to know what happened!

However, even though the developers know about that and keep receiving tons of e-mails asking them about a clear release date for the adventure game Dreamfall Chapters (which, in order to amplify the pain, will "enjoy" episodic content), the game is on hold. Not canceled yet, but the last in line.

Here's what Ragnar T?rnquist, the author and designer of the series, wrote on his blog: "Dreamfall Chapters - and, by proxy, The Longest Journey - isn't Funcom's highest priority at this point. With Age of Conan live, The Secret World staffing up in every department, and other games in various stages of development, the project is currently on the back burner - but it hasn't been abandoned."

Also, even though there is no schedule for re-starting production yet, a planned universe expansion will happen whenever the game is ready (isn't it starting to sound like Duke Nukem Forever?). "I intend to continue both the story of Dreamfall (and Zo?) as well as the saga itself through other games set in the same universe, possibly between the events of TLJ and Dreamfall?and before. And after," T?rnquist stated - basically, saying nothing much.

One thing is clear: Dreamfall Chapters is still coming. After a few other Funcom MMOs, it is true, but, at least, it's coming. Until then, we can only ask ourselves, our friends and keep debating: did April Ryan really, really die?
