Dragon Age 2, the role-playing game from developer BioWare and publisher Electronic Arts, has managed to take over the number one position in the United Kingdom video games chart during its first week on sale, managing to perform better than Pokemon Black and White.

Dragon Age 2 is an evolution of the role-playing genre and BioWare made a lot of effort to expand its appeal beyond the hardcore RPG fans that focus on the PC and the work seems to have paid off in the United Kingdom.

Pokemon White, with its all new cast of creatures, is still doing pretty well in second spot in the chart.

Fight Night Champion, the Electronic Arts made boxing game, has managed to keep its place in third position while the Black version of the Pokemon game slid down two places to reach fourth.

Just Dance 2 from Ubisoft has made a significant jump up in the chart, reaching fifth place coming from seventh performing much better than expected for a casual dance title.

Bulletstorm, the skill-based shooter from People Can Fly and Electronic Arts, has gone down from fourth to sixth while its more traditional PlayStation 3 exclusive shooter rival, Killzone 3 from Guerrilla Games and Sony, is tight on its heels at seventh.

FIFA 11 hangs on to its eight place in the United Kingdom chart, more than six months after its initial release, while Call of Duty: Black Ops, the best-selling game of last year, seems to be finally losing its claim to the top ten, sliding from six to nine.

uDraw Studio, the Ubisoft game linked to the uDraw tablet for the Wii, is closing down the top ten.

The biggest slider of the week was that of Dead Space 2, which went from ninth place to nineteenth, with Wii Party also missing the top ten.
