Ever since Michael Jackson’s sudden death in June this year, the one name that has never ceased to make headlines in reference to an alleged drug abuse that spanned more years and that eventually led to the singer’s demise, was that of Dr. Conrad Murray, Michael’s personal physician. As of now, Murray is the main suspect in the case police are building regarding Michael’s death – and, according to TMZ, also the star of a new one-episode TV special.

Reports coming in are saying that the doctor has not yet been paid for the appearance in the television special, but he will be so in the future. The purpose of the show was to show audiences how patients welcomed Dr. Murray back after he went into self-imposed isolation in the aftermath of Jackson’s death, when he even received death threats, as per some sources. Dr. Murray does not plan to make a career in television, it is further being said, but he will do the extra “work” to recoup some of his debts.

“TMZ has learned Dr. Conrad Murray struck a deal with a British documentary crew to shoot footage of the Doc during his first day back on the job in Houston on November 23, 2009. We’re told the footage was shot for an upcoming one-episode TV special. A spokesman for Dr. Murray tells us the production company was ‘interested in the reaction of patients to his return.’ We’re told the crew followed Murray around for the entire day, as he rolled by his office and his church,” TMZ writes.

The footage in question will not air for a while more, not until the MJ investigation concludes. “Dr. Murray is refusing to allow the company to air the project until the Michael Jackson investigation is complete. The spokesman tells us the wait could last ‘a couple of years.’ And just to be safe, Murray’s camp claims they’re holding all of the footage. The spokesman adds, ‘Dr. Murray is currently working 12 hour days... to pay off his [child support] debt’,” TMZ further says.

Still, that doesn’t change the fact that Dr. Murray is the prime suspect in a homicide investigation, the celebrity gossip website points out. This is also the man whom Janet Jackson herself held responsible for Michael’s death, for encouraging in him a habit that ended up by killing him and being unprofessional about many things. As TMZ says, “only in Hollywood” is such a thing possible.
