According to the developing team, the new release of the software solution comes with support for a new social networking site, Twitter, so that Nokia mobile phone users can enjoy twitting directly from the homescreen of their handsets. At the same time, the new version of the application comes with S40 support, as well as with a series of bug fixes, meant to improve the overall performance of the mobile client, not to mention some other minor feature enhancements.

Those who are interested in trying out the new flavor of Nokia Messaging for social networks beta should be able to enjoy enhancements like: Facebook – Upload photos to selected album Facebook – Timestamp improvement Twitter – Direct message Twitter – Post with Location Twitter – View profile of people you are following and posted tweets Twitter – View own profile and posted tweets Twitter – Mark as Favorite

According to the developing team, some of the new features included in the software solution have been asked by those who already tried out the application on their Nokia devices, and additional functionality will be added to the application based on further feedback from testers. For example, the ability to upload pictures and videos, to view upcoming events, birthdays and import to device calendar, to search for friends of to click-to-call / click-to-SMS / click-to-FB Email are features that were added based on user feedback.

“The Nokia Messaging for Social Networks Beta is compatible with the Nokia 6700 Classic, Nokia N97, Nokia N97 Mini, Nokia 5230, Nokia 5530, Nokia 5800, and the Nokia X6 devices and performs much better if you are running the latest firmware on your device. We are working to add support for more devices and more communities in the future,” the guys over at Nokia Beta Labs say.

The first iteration of the solution was launched back in September last year, and it offered users the possibility to view, post, and comment on messages, to share their location with friends, or to stay in touch with Facebook contacts directly from the mobile phone. Twitter functionality has been now included in the software solution, and those interested in giving it a try can download it from Softpedia too, via this link.
