Comes with Maps click-to-action for S60

Nokia Here and now, the application that offers easy-to-use web services related to your current location, has been updated once again. The application is still in beta, yet it seems that its development continues, and we will probably be able to see a final version available in the not-so-far future. Of course, users who try out the Nokia Here and now are invited to offer feedback to the team in charge of the application so that the development process goes faster and easier.

What the new version brings to users includes click-to-action support for the Maps application, which means that clicking an address link in Events shows the location on map, as well as S40 support, which is about the same thing as for the S60 version, only that it does not include the click-to-action, yet the Nokia Beta Labs says it's all made in Java.

Some of the S40 devices that the application features support for in the new version include the Nokia 7510 Supernova, 7610 Supernova, 6700 Classic, 6600 Slide, 6600 Fold, 6303 Classic, 6300i, 6210 Navigator, 3710 Fold, 3600 Slide. The application is available for these devices in a separate installer, so those willing to try it should take care which file they are downloading.

Although the developers tried to fix as many bugs as possible, it seems that some issues are still there, and that the app does not work or has major glitches with the Nokia N96 and Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. When it comes to N96, users should do the following, “please uninstall any previous versions and try the new S60 3rd Edition FP1 [sic] version instead of the FP2 version. It behaves better in most cases, but the ‘Always ask’ access point setting is not working.”

The Nokia Here and now is available for download from Softpedia as well, via this link. A few more details on it can be found in the video embedded below.
