The Witcher 2 patch 1.2 is now officially available for download, bringing not only lots of fixes for various issues encountered by players but also plenty of free downloadable content for the role playing game developed by CD Projekt Red.

The Witcher 2 was released for a couple of weeks now and already the Polish developer released a patch for it, taking it to version 1.1, last week.

Now, after teasing about the patch earlier today, CD Projekt has now officially deployed update 1.2 for The Witcher 2.

The patch brings plenty of fixes for a large number of issues, addressing broken quest lines, eliminating some balancing problems between the main character, Geralt, and his enemies, while improving features like the save game import system, which allowed files from The Witcher 1 to be brought into the new game.

What's more, CD Projekt has thrown in lots of downloadable content that was already released for the title, ranging from various outfits to extra quests like Troll Trouble.

A special "Barbers and Coiffeuses" DLC is also included in the patch, which enables certain merchants from the game to give Geralt hair cuts or new styles.

Be warned that the patch install process is a bit tricky, so check out the official instructions given by CD Projekt below.

"Patch 1.2 may be installed differently depending on circumstances.

If an active Internet connection is present: Any new installation of the game will be automatically updated to include patches 1.1 and 1.2 when you run the game launcher and confirm that you wish to update the game to its newest version, game copies previously updated to version 1.1 will be automatically updated to version 1.2 when you run the game launcher and confirm that you wish to update the game to its newest version." If you don't have an active Internet connection, then you need to manually download the two patches, both 1.1 and 1.2, and apply them to the game.

The Witcher 2 patch 1.2 is available for download right now from Softpedia.
