14 DAY TRIAL // Owners of tablet PCs running under Google's Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system have now at their disposal a new, appealing application developed specifically for their devices, namely HD Widgets.
Launched officially today, the new application includes a wide range of widget sizes, as well as with increased functionality and specific looks.
“HD Widgets sets the bar for the next generation of Android apps. These widgets are far and away more detailed and attractive than first-gen widgets and are sure to make even iPad users a little envious,” the team behind the application notes.
There are about a dozen widget sizes included into the mix, such as two tablet-width headers and a half-page widget, among others.
Most of the available widgets will offer time and weather, yet there are also larger tablet widgets that deliver 5-day forecast or utility switches, depending on user's choice.
“The best part of HD Widgets is how fun and easy it is to use. Everything in the app is swipe-able: the menu, the pages, and the options,” the development team notes.
“You just swipe left and right to change details on the fly. You can mix and match 30 different clocks (LED, flip clock, and Honeycomb) with backgrounds, layouts, and options,” the company continues.
Some of the main features of the new application would include fullscreen usage, along with a fun interface, and quick and easy editing functionality.
Moreover, the application offers visual configuration capabilities, as well as features like page swiping, menu swiping, and option swiping, and fullscreen weather activity. HD weather icons were included into the mix as well.
Not only would users be able to enjoy a number of 12 widget types, but they will also have the possibility to chose 3 large tablet-only widgets, as well as a number of over 100 configurations.
For weather widgets, they will be able to choose either the AccuWeather or WeatherBug service, or F / C temperature.
At the moment, the application is available only for tablet PCs, but the development team plans on making it available on mobile phones as well. At the same time, they aim at bringing along more clocks, more skins, and more themes via future updates.
