Featuring an updated V8 engine, crash fixes and other minor enhancements, Chrome 13.0.772.0 Dev is now available for all supported platforms, including Mac OS X.

No platform-specific changes are listed, but Anthony Laforge of the Google Chrome team ensures that all of the enhancements packed inside the latest developer build of Chrome are applied to Mac OS X, Windows, Linux, and Chrome Frame.

The Google program manager is proud to introduce the new build, stating in a recent blog post “The Dev channel has been updated to 13.0.772.0 for Windows, Mac, Linux, and ChromeFrame.”

The changelog specifically mentions the updated V8 to version 3.3.8.1, continued progress on rel:preload, and continued work on Print Preview.

These work-in-progress efforts are to be finalized in the next Chrome 13 beta. They will arrive inside the usual bag of fixes that characterize a sturdier release.

The crash fixes are not detailed in Laforge’s blog post, but avid fans of the open source web browser will be able to dig up more information from the ever reliable SVN revision log.

For those who are actively tracking the status of every Chrome channel, the Beta slot has been recently promoted to version 12.0.742.53 with a number of UI tweaks and performance fixes, according to Jason Kersey blogging for Google on May 18th.

The Beta is distributed in an identical form on both Mac and Windows, as well as Linux platforms.

Users who appreciate only the more robust Chrome builds for their daily web browsing still have the two-week old Chrome 11 Stable available to them.

Building upon Chrome 10, version 11 features important security patches that deal with bad casts in Chromium WebKit glue and integer overflows in SVG filters, according to the release notes.

All versions of Chrome for Mac can be downloaded using the link below. The application calls for an Intel machine running at least Mac OS X version 10.5 (Leopard), 128MB of RAM and just over 100MB of free space.
