New builds of Chrome 12 have been released on the Developer Channel for all supported users, including those running the browser on a Macintosh computer, with performance fixes and UI tweaks.

Announcing the latest Chrome 12.0 builds for Mac, Windows, and Linux, Jason Kersey of the Google Chrome development team says, “The Chrome Dev channel has been updated to 12.0.742.9 for all platforms.”

“This release continues to address UI and performance issues, as well as updates the Sync preferences UI,” Kersey outlines for those testing the newest iterations of the open source application.

As usual, the blogger directs fans to the SVN revision log for the full scoop on new features, tweaks, and bug fixes.

Chrome 12.0.742.9 comes high on the heels of version 12.0.742.5 released this past weekend when Google felt it was necessary to fix a regression with sync along with other bugs before Easter kicked off.

On the Beta front, version 11.0.696.50 is up for grabs with bug fixes for the inconsistency of the Flash plugin. Other changes include the disabled speech input for read-only and disabled input fields, renamed Blob.slice to Blob.webkitSlice (changed it to take start and end parameters), and renamed BlobBuilder to WebKitBlobBuilder.

Users of only the most stable Chrome builds can download version 10.0.648.205 from the Stable channel for Mac OS X, Windows, Linux and Chrome Frame.

The new version has a new Adobe Flash plugin, and a bunch of security fixes.

Those using a Mac to run Chrome will require an Intel-based computer with Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard or OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard (all incremental versions are supported, including Mac OS X 10.6.7), a minimum 128 MB of RAM, and about 100 MB of free hard disk space.
