14 DAY TRIAL // A new version of Dolphin Browser HD was announced as being ready in the Android Market, namely Dolphin Browser HD V4.1, following a period of a beta version of the browser. The new Dolphin Browser HD V4.1 was released in beta about one month after the Dolphin Browser HD V4.0 was made available in the Android Market.
Following that release, the new flavor of the mobile browser comes to Android devices with a nice range of enhancements, along with some fixes when compared to what version 4.0 had to offer.
Here's a list of the main features included in Dolphin Browser HD 4.1:
Add History Entry in Bookmarks side bar. Add delete download history option back. Email your downloads as attachment. Gesture upgraded: add option to access bookmarks bar/Tool bar, option to lock or unlock the orientation of the screen. Add Manage Space option in system application management. Need Manually close Find on page now. Add possibility to change the location of your downloads in Dolphin Settings. Add possibility to backup and restore your browser data. As stated above, there are also a series of fixes included in the new version of the browser, such as one related to the impossibility to delete bookmarks in thumbnail view, or another one that prevented users from sorting bookmarks.
Moreover, compared to version 4.0, the new Dolphin Browser HD 4.1 does not come with a search issue in Dolphin Home, nor does it include some force close issues.
One thing that should be mentioned here is the fact that the Android browser comes with some security issues, which might not be limited to Dolphin Browser HD.
“By visiting malicious URL and clicking a link it is possible to read & send to the attacker contents of any file on SD card, provided you know it’s path,” the app's developers note in a post on the comapny's website.
“There is a workaround way for you to avoid the attack. Since we add a feature that our users can change the download directory, such as “/sdcard/TunnyBrowser/downloads/random_path”. Following the way you can avoid this issue,” they continue.
