14 DAY TRIAL // A new version of the popular Dolphin Browser HD for Android was made available for download for those fond of the application, bringing forth a nice range of enhancements, including support for the upcoming Android 2.3 OS version, called Gingerbread.
According to the app's developing company, the new release, Dolphin Browser HD 4.1, is only a beta version, but still brings forth a wide range of enhancements, as well as bug fixes and new features.
“Today we are happy to announce that our newest version Dolphin Browser HD V4.1 beta1 adds many tiny but effective features and fixes many bugs in V4.0. In Dolphin V4.1, we pay more attention to the details of user experiences,” the company announced.
“This latest version also includes beta support for Android 2.3. We’ll be rolling this out after Gingerbread officially launches, but if you’re interested in a sneak preview, you can download an early version.
As stated above, the new release of the application includes a nice range of new features, such as the possibility to email downloads as attachments, a Manage Space option, the possibility to change the location of downloads in Dolphin Settings, and more.
The release notes of the new Dolphin Browser HD V4.1 beta 1 include:
- Add history entry in Bookmarks side bar. - Add clear download history in Download page. - Now you can email your downloads as attachment. - Gesture upgraded: add option to access bookmarks bar/Tool bar, option to lock or unlock the orientation of the screen. - Add Manage Space option in system application management. - Add close button in Find on Page, you should manually close Find on page now. - You can change the location of your downloads in Dolphin Settings. - You can backup and restore your browser data.
According to the company, some of the bugs that were present in version 4.0, but which were fixed in the new release, include the impossibility to delete bookmarks in thumbnail view, or to sort bookmarks, as well as the search issue present in Dolphin Home.
All of the new features included with the application are expected to prove very useful even if none of them is a major one.
