Adobe is spreading the word that numerous Final Cut Pro customers have switched to their own video editing tools, fueling immense growth for the Flash making company year-over-year.

Showcasing their later advances in broadcast workflows at IBC 2011, Adobe said their Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium software “has taken the industry by storm with breakthrough new features and performance that help video professionals deliver content to virtually any screen.”

Dishing out figures on the increasing adoption by Mac users, the company added that “Demand for Adobe’s video content creation tools has exploded, growing 22 percent year-over-year with 45 percent growth on the Mac, fueled by the large number of Apple Final Cut Pro customers switching to Adobe Premiere Pro.”

Apple earlier this year released Final Cut Pro X, the latest version of their video editing software that received anything but accolades from the creative industry.

Many professionals have been compelled either to switch back to Final Cut Pro 7, or to third-party solutions that run on a Mac, such as Avid Media Composer, or Adobe’s very own Premiere Pro.

In what seemed like a desperate attempt to appease early Final Cut Pro X adopters, Apple this month began selling leftover copies of the discontinued Final Cut Pro Studio at a discount.

Many describe Final Cut Pro X as a blown up version of iMovie, the 19.99 iLife application that provides intuitive yet simplistic video manipulation.

Adobe Systems Inc. concluded, saying “Adobe continues to show its commitment to streamlining video workflows and announced the acquisition of certain assets of IRIDAS, an industry pioneer with a family of software products that cover all aspects of a unified color workflow, from on-set to finishing.”
