Adobe has announced a new iOS app called Carousel, a photography solution which aims to eliminate storage issues once and for all by giving you access to your entire photo library from all your iPads, iPhones, and Macs.

Carousel is set to make you enjoy your photos anywhere you are, and even puts the necessary tools at your disposal to instantly retouch them using the same powerful photo-processing technology as Adobe Photoshop Lightroom.

Adobe’s John Nack wrote in a blog post that “Photographers are clamoring to transfer photos wirelessly to their tablets, review & tweak them there, and then sync the results with their desktops.”

Nack says “Adobe Carousel embraces that vision–and takes it further.”

It basically cast as a “highly tuned version of the Lightroom/Camera Raw engine” only its designed for mobile devices, and features multi-device syncing, Nack said.

Using it you will get access to all your images on all your devices, and you’ll be able to make non-destructive editing.

“Tweak a setting on one device & you’ll see the edit ripple through your other devices,” according to the developers.

You can invite people to share a photo catalog and they will be able to view photos, add new ones, apply adjustments and preset “looks,” as well as flag favorite works.

The solution has social network integration, which means the likes of Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr were a must for Carousel.

Nack says this is only the beginning. Updates are on the way not only with improvements to the existing feature set, but also new additions.

“This first version of the app is ruthlessly focused on simplicity & on meeting the needs of a very large group of photographers,” he blogs. “As it evolves there’s plenty of room to grow, including adding support for raw file formats and integrating with Lightroom & other desktop apps.”

Adobe Carousel will be available on the App Store later this month.

Users will need to subscribe with Adobe to import photos and view them on all their iPads, iPhones, and Macs.

There is now an offer to subscribe for the introductory price of US$59.99 a year or US$5.99 a month. The offer expires January 31, 2012.
