Capcom has all but confirmed the fact that it will be releasing a Devil May Cry HD Collection to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its hack and slash series, as the Japanese company is currently running a fan art competition on its Unity website.

Capcom's Devil May Cry franchise has been pleasing fans with its unique characters and top-notch stylized hack and slash gameplay for quite some time and it will soon celebrate 10 years since the release of the first game in the series.

As such, quite a few voices are saying that a special 10th Anniversary HD collection is coming, fact emphasized by an early listing from an online retailer, which said that a Devil May Cry Collection is coming later this year.

Capcom declined to comment on the listing, but has now pretty much all but confirmed the arrival of such a high-definition collection, as it announced on its Unity community website that a contest for Devil May Cry-themed fan art is being held and the works will be featured in a new, unannounced Capcom game.

"Devil May Cry's 10th Anniversary is fast approaching! To help celebrate, we're holding a very special art contest," the company revealed.

"It has been 10 years since Dante exploded onto screens across the world and set the benchmark for action games, intricate combat, incredibly stylish fighting and the use of pizza within cutscenes. To celebrate the decade of devil hunting we're holding an art competition and we want you to display your talents in creating some of the best Devil May Cry fan art ever!"

"The winners of the competition will receive a place in history when their artwork is featured in a new, to be announced Capcom game! (plus a copy of said secret game when upon its release!)"

As you can see, Capcom is definitely keen on celebrating the anniversary of its Devil May Cry series and, seeing as how the Devil May Cry DmC reboot is still scheduled to appear next year, a high-definition collection should be perfect to entertain fans until then.

The Devil May Cry collection is set to be comprised of high-definition remastered edition of Devil May Cry 1, 2 and 3, while the fourth installment, which did appear for the PS3 or Xbox 360, is still on sale.

Expect more details about Capcom's plans in regards to such a Devil May Cry collection in the following weeks.
