The universe of the shooter will be expanded

John Ryan was one of the leading writers linked to Guild Wars 2, responsible for guiding the evolution of the increasingly complex narrative of the MMO, but he is announcing that he is no longer associated with ArenaNet and that his new position is at Bungie, where he is the new loremaster for Destiny.

The information comes from the official Twitter account of the game developer, who does not say exactly what his position will entail.

The social shooter from Bungie has a universe that was created entirely from scratch, and even before it was out, the company said it wanted to deliver emergent stories that gamers would be able to explore at will, many of them centered around usually forgotten elements of the genre like equipment and weapons.

When Destiny was delivered, a lot of fans complained about the fact that the actual narrative was relatively limited and many elements of the game world did not get enough contextualization.

The fact that Bungie is hiring a loremaster might be a sign that the level of complexity is about to increase in the coming months and a new position is required to keep track of all the changes that are coming to the shooter.

House of Wolves is coming to Destiny during the second financial quarter

The first task of the new loremaster might be to work on House of Wolves, the new expansion that is supposed to be launched during the second financial quarter of the year.

Bungie has already said it will add the same amount of new content as The Dark Below did in December, which means that gamers will get a new major end-game raid, more strikes, and an increased level for Guardians to achieve.

Leaks have already shown items and weapons that will be part of House of Wolves, but the developers are saying that the images are outdated and that they are planning a number of surprises for the community.

Until then, gamers will be able to get the update 1.1.1 for Destiny at some point before the end of February, designed to eliminate the heavy weapon ammo bug and solve a number of other issues.
