Dennis Hopper’s assistant says estranged wife Victoria tried to kill him on his hospital bed

At the beginning of this year, two separate and apparently contradictory reports made their way into the media. One said that legendary actor Dennis Hopper was no longer able to fight prostate cancer and that he was on his deathbed. The other informed that Hopper had filed for divorce from wife of 14 years, Victoria, though there had been no indication of trouble in their marriage. TMZ has now the connection between the two.

According to court papers filed by one of Hopper’s assistants, Victoria tried to kill the actor on his hospital bed. Though the assistant does not say how she might have attempted to do that, the statement paints a very troubling picture of the state of the marriage of the two, which sort of goes hand in hand with what Hopper himself said in a statement used to grant him a restraining order against his soon to be ex wife. One way or the other, Victoria though Dennis had a lot of money and she wanted to make sure she could get her hand on at least a part of it.

“Someone tried to kill Dennis Hopper – according to legal docs filed by the actor’s assistant – and the alleged culprit is Hopper’s own wife. Dennis’ assistant, Emily Davis, made the shocking allegation in a declaration filed in Hopper’s epic divorce battle with wife Victoria. In the docs, obtained by TMZ, Davis claims she and everyone else in the Hopper household were ‘at the mercy of [wife Victoria’s] cruelty’ when Hopper had to be taken to the hospital last December – and added that his wife ‘was trying to kill him.’ Emily didn’t specify the alleged method of termination,” TMZ writes.

“Davis claims Victoria – who’s been trying to preserve her stake in Dennis’ inheritance – ‘is a threat to all in the home and has already looted millions of [dollars in] property that is not hers.’ Dennis’ daughter from a prior marriage, Marin Hopper – who’s actually older than her stepmother – also weighed in, calling Victoria’s behavior ‘frightening’... and accusing her of spreading ‘slanderous lies’ to the media,” the e-zine further explains.

After filing for divorce, Dennis Hopper also requested a restraining order against Victoria, which, as also noted above, was granted when he managed to convince the judge that she was a threat to his personal safety. Ever since, the two estranged spouses have been doing battle in court, with each claiming the other was a liar.
