Hollywood icon Dennis Hopper is in serious condition: having been diagnosed with prostate cancer late last year, it is said now that he’s made his peace with the world and has already started to say his goodbyes. Cancer has spread to his bones as well, and doctors are saying his condition will only deteriorate in time, Bild magazine informs.

As of now, there is no official confirmation of this report. Moreover, it comes from the National Enquirer, a tabloid whose reporting has often been called into question. Nevertheless, for the sake of accuracy, the Enquirer is the same tab that, a while back, told the world “Dirty Dancing” star Patrick Swayze had been diagnosed with cancer and that doctors were not optimistic about his condition.

Fans can only hope the same is not true for Hopper as well. “The world discovered in October that Hopper (73, ‘Easy Rider’) was suffering from prostate cancer. Now his doctors have given him the bad news that there nothing more they can do to stop the disease. He is said to have now accepted his fate and is preparing for his death,” Bild writes. Other media outlets have also picked up on this and are reporting it as a fact.

“The National Enquirer reported that the actor is now saying goodbye to friends, family and loved ones having finished filming for his TV show ‘Crash.’ He is said to now also be suffering from bone cancer and his condition apparently deteriorated so much that he was admitted to the Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles shortly before Christmas, a source told the National Enquirer,” the same publication goes on to say.

“I am ready to die,” the actor reportedly told his loved ones, as per ongoing rumors. Hopper is married to Victoria Duffy, his fifth wife, as of 1996. They have a daughter together, but Hopper has three other children from his previous marriages.
