14 DAY TRIAL // Demi Moore is ready to put the final nail in the coffin of her marriage to Ashton Kutcher, it has emerged. No less than 16 months after she and Ashton separated, she is getting ready to file the divorce papers.
Ashton filed for divorce late last year, as celebrity gossip lovers must already know.
Page Six claims to have it on very good authority that the sole reason why Demi did not do the same is because she was still holding on to hope that they could reach a favorable settlement – a financial settlement, that is.
Clearly, all attempts towards getting there have proven fruitless.
“An insider tells us she tired of trying to reach a confidential settlement with Kutcher, and that the couple’s divorce could go to a trial,” Page Six writes.
“Ashton made a lot of money after marrying Demi — a lot more than she made — but despite him becoming just as famous through her, he believes he doesn’t owe her that much. She has had enough,” the tipster explains.
If the case goes to trial, it will probably be another long while until the two are divorced, especially since neither is willing to budge an inch to accommodate the wishes of the other.
“She’d been hoping to quietly negotiate a settlement and then file the papers once an agreement was reached,” the tab further notes.
Since Demi and Ashton confirmed their separation, in the aftermath of the second cheating scandal involving the handsome actor in as many years, there’s been a lot of speculation about what goes on behind closed doors when they and their attorneys meet face to face.
Because they did not have a prenup, it is believed that they are arguing over money, which is preventing them from reaching a settlement in the divorce.
